Master Plan Development

The design layout transformed into a more organized community with different hierarchical locations. The dense and high rise housing units welcome the commuters at the beginning of the site while separating themselves from the more calm and low rise units at the far end. The community space balances the uniform entities of the high rise units by giving something new to its area. Shops and green markets are located within the main road to give the variety of activities within the community. The roads direct and divide the spaces within the buildings to create different areas and give the same community experience as its surrounding.

Site Development Plan

We have three urban design strategies:

Scheme I- Each road subdivides the community into little villages.

Scheme II
- A main road would allow access to the community, then paths would take you to each housing.

Scheme III
- Streets divide the site into blocks then each block is subdivided into lots, organizing the spaces for urban housing and community spaces.

we are taking in consideration to further develop Scheme III due that we are required to develop a master plan for an urban community that can be applied to other similar urban sites. In Scheme III the street layout is more likely suitable for a urban community development that has to follow building codes, while scheme I & II are more like a village type.

Philippines and Site Information

Natural Resources available in Philippines:
Among the non-metal deposits, the most abundant are cement, lime, and marble, which we might take in consideration to utilize in our design due the availability and low cost.

Another resource available is Bamboo.
Even though is much valued as an appetite, bamboo is the fastest growing plant that can be used as a construction material. It is easy to be cultivated and its a growing industry in the Philippines. As well as cement in will be taken in consideration as a construction material for our design.
